Business Spanish Badge 3: Seeking Employment in Spanish

To earn this badge, participants will further their Spanish grammar skills and gain familiarity with terminology and cultural customs related to the business world. Topics include past-tense verbs, vocabulary centered around searching for employment, cover letters, resumes, and mental health in Hispanic communities. Participants will create an ePortfolio, take part in mock job interviews, and learn about differences in the job application and hiring process in Spanish-speaking countries.

Specific competencies

Write a paragraph about educational and professional experience, using verbs in the preterite tense.
Draft a cover letter to send to the hiring manager at a company, using present and preterite verbs.
Craft a resume, considering trends in content and conventional format in the Spanish-speaking world.
Create an ePortfolio on wix.com to have an online virtual folder for important business documents in Spanish, such as cover letters, a written resume, and a video resume.
Discuss mental health, applying correct usages of preterite and imperfect tenses based on context.
