This hands-on workshop will prepare faculty to reflect on assessment practices and explore authentic assessment. The workshop is designed to offer best practices, practical tips, and resources when planning, implementing and/or refining authentic assessments to effectively measure higher levels of student learning and increase student self-efficacy. This workshop is funded by the National Science Foundation.

By the end of this session, workshop participants are able to:

• Analyze and reflect on existing assessments
• Identify key elements of authentic assessment
• Apply principles of authenticity to guide the design and development of meaningful assessment activity
• Integrate technology to design authentic assessment activities
